Cowboy cool Andrio Frazon

After featuring Mister Model International 2014 Victor Zanatta, we felt somewhat guilty not featuring his fellow Brasiliero Mr. Tourism International 2014 Andrio Frazon. They made it to pageant center stage in about the same time after winning their respective titles last year and both are in the final stretch of their reigns.

They must be really close buddies by now, gracing the international pageant circuit together during their term as spokespersons for their individual pageants and as ambassadors at large for Brazil. The two titlists had just attended the Grand Finals of Misters of the Philippines 2015 in Manila, joining up with Mr. International 2014 Neil Perez of the Philippines, where expectedly they created a bit of a splash.

Andrio revealed that he usually runs and does gym to keep fit, in addition to having a regulated diet. "Nevertheless, more people praise my mouth and my smile. I enjoy more my shoulders that are broad." Besides his being a pageant hunk, we know a freezing cool fact about Andrio Frazon, which we assume not many are aware of.

If the headline photos did not give us away, it is his being a Sertanejo singer-songwriter. Sertanejo is the Brazilian brand of country music. It has its origins in the 1920s and is the most popular music style in Brazil, topping the Brazilian music charts and earning a specific category in the Latin Grammy Awards.

Andrio’s love affair with music came much earlier than his interest in joining pageants. It is even likely that his musical abilities boosted his chances of winning in pageants. Before he flew to Panama to compete in the 6th edition of Mister Tourism International barely two weeks after winning in Mister Brazil 2014, he stated, "I'm going with all determination to bring home the title. My guitar is also in the bag…” It was the first time Brazil sent a representative.

Andrio represented Alcatrazes Archipelago in Mister Brazil 2014 and the winner of Mister Press Award, chosen by the press and media professionals attending the event. He was raised in Itaporanga, a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. The Mister already had artistic tendencies since the age of 13 singing at family parties, but only after reaching 18 did he decide to chase his dream. "I started to go to college and, in between, sang for friends in bars and parties. Then, by chance, hitched some modeling and moved to São Paulo, where there was the invitation to the Mister," he said..

He achieved a milestone of sort in his music career early this year when his composition was chosen as the theme for Festa de Peão de Itaporanga, Portuguese for Itaporanga Cowboy Festival – a traditional rodeo exhibition fair featuring bulls and horses, barrel racing, festival queens, cowboys and country music.

“I always wanted to honor my city. I speak proudly of it wherever I go, even outside the country. For many years I had been nurturing this dream to make this homage, something like the Barretos parties and Caldas Novas that every year has a theme song for the party! This year I’m happy to have composed this song, and the organizing committee and the city government embraced the idea!”

“It is great happiness to be marked in the history of your city, your people, your friends and family. The first time I received a letter from city hall congratulating me for the title that I received in Panama as Mister Tourism International and I carry the title of ambassador of world tourism forever. It is very good feeling to take the name of our city around the world. Now with this theme song of FEMAI in the same city of the late Angelino de Oliveira of "Tristeza do Jeca" I'm even happier! Your satisfaction is even greater for having records like this to bequeath children and grandchildren!”

Even after his Mister Tourism International stint, we can surmise there won’t be idle time for this guy who decided to invest in his dream to become a singer. “This year, there’s lots of cool stuff in my career, such as music videos, new songs and many shows,” said our outgoing king.

Now, from the viewpoint of a growing legion of mister contests followers, this extra fact makes him considerably cooler. More will be drawn in by the “man and his music magic.” Andrio is one pageant king not just appetizingly cool to the eyes but to the ears too. Even if a good measure have yet to embrace Sertanejo music, who minds hillbilly country music when the singing Cowboy is feast enough for you.
